Building Hope for 100
More than 40 years ago, God called a farmer and a teacher to bring the Good News of Jesus to a remote part of Congo.
Since the founding of Every Child Ministries in 1985, ECM has faithfully transformed thousands of lives.
As we celebrate four decades of His faithfulness, we’re answering a new call: to deepen our impact in Uganda, Congo, and Ghana and to reach 100 communities over the next ten years with the life-changing Gospel of Jesus Christ.

FORTY YEARS OF FAITH
1985
Founders John and Lorella Rouster launched ECM to provide Sunday school education in DR Congo.
1990
African Leadership Training Center is established. ECM's focus is training Sunday school teachers to impact their communities.
1999-2006
Ministry expanded to Ghana and Uganda, reaching street children and victims of ritual servitude.
Today
Your support has helped ECM impact countless children, families, and communities in Africa. We have expanded to now offer several programs including Child Sponsorship, Family Empowerment, disability support, Community Connection and Sunday school training.

Milestones of God's Goodness
1985
ECM is started by founders John and Lorella Rouster. The focus is on Sunday Schools in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
1999
ECM begins working in Ghana with vulnerable children.
2006
ECM begins working in Uganda with children affected by the war.
2016
ECM opens up sponsorship to older children via the Next Step Program.
2021
Family Empowerment is started, which focuses on helping entire families, not just one or two children.
2025
ECM celebrates 40 years of impact working with children, families, and communities in Africa.
